Toplou Monastery, following the centuries-old tradition and building on the cultivation experience of the Fathers, combines the ascetic tradition and spirituality of the Orthodox Church with the sustainable and organic agriculture at the eastern end of Crete. It is well known that the Monastery, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, is a leader in the organic cultivation of vine and olive groves. It has separate production and standardization facilities for each organic product, ie winery, oil mill, distillery and beekeeping. Therefore what it produces, standardizes and promotes in the domestic and international market is biological, having a unique focus on respect for the environment and the local tradition of healthy eating.
